[Net Adventure Park] a 4-seasons Project in the French Mid-Mountain
The context: Creation of an Outdoor center
The project is part of the tourism development of the municipality of Besse-et-Saint-Anastaise, in the center of France (mid-mountain area).
The municipality wishes to carry out several minor developments to allow the practice of outdoor activities, within the future outdoor center of the Berthaire Forest and Lake Pavin.
This program is divided into several phases which will take place over 5 years.
The Pertuyzat-Pavin area is part of the Super Besse winter sports resort. Like many mid-mountain resorts, the resort has launched a dynamic of diversification of its activities for several years, targeting a family clientele.
Goals :
A fun and original discovery of the forest
The objective is to create a nature leisure park to discover the forest in a fun and original way. The recreational spaces offered in the park must correspond to the interpretation of a natural and integrated leisure park, coherent with the local forest, where people come to relax, rest, but also practice original and motivating activities, generating emotions, whether leisure or sporting, in complete safety.
The park must therefore be accessible to all audiences, and of all ages.
Landscape integration
The project is located in the forest of Berthaire and Lac Pavin.
The challenge of the project is to enhance, while preserving this wooded area by imagining a site of high visual and environmental quality in this national forest. A wet zone is present requiring special protection actions.
The project was fully validated by the ONF (French forest protection authorities) and special precautions were taken:
- reduction in the footprint of equipment
- anchoring techniques adapted to respect the forest heritage of the area.
The climatic conditions specific to the region (snow, rain, wind) were taken into account to guarantee good progress over time.
Operational consistency and scalability
The organization of the park was designed to facilitate surveillance of the park and optimize flows.
The project was studied in its entirety with a vision of possible extensions and connections with the future activities of the Outdoor center.
Achievements:
Several recreational districts have been set up mixing:
- aerial activities: big bouncenet, nets sea, footbridges, observation platforms, slide, etc
- ground activities: swings, mini treetop adventure course, climbing wall, etc.
Fun activities coexist with observation and contemplation areas.
The scripting of certain game elements has been developed: 'volcano' climbing wall, 'forest animals' footbridge, etc.
All activities are accessible without equipment, independently and securely.
