[ARTIFICIAL] A TREE HOUS ON A WOODEN POST
This winter, the Elves of Peypin asked us to enlarge their village. So we built 2 new tree houses connected by nets paths.
A tree house on artificial post
For the purposes of the course, we have set up an artificial post. In order to preserve the beautiful of the site, we have selected a wooden pole in acacia. This species has very good mechanical characteristics and excellent durability. The visual of the hut is preserved with a the same design as existing huts.
MATERIALS SELECTED TO WITHSTAND INTENSIVE USE
The Elven Woods parks are very popular. It is therefore essential to set up very resistant modules. This use is very close to the constraints of the Playground.
So to access the course we have designed a net chimney in wired rope and wood. This module makes it possible to gain height very quickly (vertical access) while ensuring optimal safety.
This net chimney was entirely manufactured in our workshop in the Drôme. It is made up of wooden floors and wire fiber rope. Thanks to these materials, the chimney has an optimized lifespan. The string does not stretch. The wooden floors provide great comfort of use and their wear is very low. An outer lining in polyamide net makes its use totally secure.
The constructive choices of the connecting nets are also made to optimize the service life and facilitate maintenance.
Acacia : a sustainable wood
Acacia is one of the rare European species considered as class 4, in its raw state and without any chemical treatment. It is an economical and ecological alternative to exotic woods.
Naturally rot-proof, this species is thus ideally suited to our constructions. Without treatment, acacia is perfectly resistant to the different types of attack generally affecting wood (insects, parasitic fungi, bad weather, etc.). Its longevity is 25 to 40 years when it is in contact with the ground, and can go up to 80 years without direct contact.
This very dense wood, the acacia has very good mechanical characteristics (close to oak).
