[NATURAL PLAYGROUND] A PLAY AREA IN THE TREES
We were approached by the community of communes of Vézouze en Piémont to design the park for the Maison de la Forêt.
Located in the heart of the Vosges mountains, La Maison de la Forêt (The forest Home) aims to promote the forest as a key element of the local landscape, not only from an economic, ecological and cultural point of view, but also as a source of leisure activities.
The site is aimed at tourists, but also at the local public (schools, families, economic players), with a strong educational and cultural dimension. It offers a wide range of activities (conferences, educational activities, exhibitions, hikes, etc.).
It continues to develop with the aim of offering a walk around the Maison de la Forêt as an invitation to lose oneself in the natural environment, where the discovery of trees, plants, flowers, birds and insects can prove to be a surprise!
A customized course
After visiting the site, we proposed various options to bring fun and educational activities to the area:
- mini-rope course,
- slide,
- observation platforms,
- swings,
- zip line, etc.
Elected representatives were able to make their choice according to their budget and their wishes, based on a detailed quotation illustrated by several examples of similar projects.
Compliance with playground standards
This play area is accessible to all in a public space. It was therefore obvious to propose a space that complied with the playground standard.
We imagined the site as several small playgrounds accessible to 3 to 14 year-olds:
- 2 mini rope courses with beams, rope games and playfull footbridge.
- 1 climbing wall
- 1 zipline
Each play module meets standard requirements for safety, accessibility, resistance and maintenance.
A sustainable playground close to nature
Particular emphasis has been placed on preserving trees, using progressive construction techniques that respect living organisms.
We have taken advantage of every natural element present: trees, stream, natural relief. Our aim is to have a minimal impact on the existing ecosystem.
Wood shavings will be laid out on the ground to meet safety requirements while preserving the forest aspect of the site.
Our modules are essentially made of wood and cable: sustainable materials.
Our installation is reversible. Each module can be completely dismantled and replaced or repaired when worn.
